We were engaged to deliver an installation that matched the calibre of the artwork in a setting with real constraints, turning a historic Minster into the backdrop for a free public digital art exhibition.
The Execution
A UNIQUE SET OF CONSTRAINTS
We installed a 12 metre freestanding LED structure inside a Grade I listed place of worship with zero fixings into the building fabric, working around live services and maintaining a clean, visitor-facing finish.
We consulted on the project for almost a year, developing drawings, weight and load calculations, and site assessments before confirming the build methodology.
WHAT WE DELIVERED
We supplied Absen PL2.5 indoor LED panels in portrait orientation at 2.5mm pixel pitch, rising 12 metres inside the Minster. Using this product, this was the tallest ground-stacked configuration we have delivered, and it has been recognised by the manufacturer as a benchmark installation.
We coordinated a bespoke scaffold support solution and supported ground-penetrating radar surveys to confirm safe load-bearing zones. We integrated signal distribution, processing and power infrastructure within the structure to keep cabling and equipment controlled and largely out of view.
