The CREATIVE
TRUSTED TO DELIVER
ABC gave us free rein on the technical delivery. We designed a clean, broadcast-friendly stage environment that respected the venue’s heritage character and still felt bold for an awards night.
The Execution
HOW WE BUILT IT
- 01 Main Plenary: LED Wall and Stage
We built an 8m x 2.5m Absen PL2.5 LED wall on a 1m platform, with two 3.5m lighting totems housing Astera Titan Pixel Tubes to add height and structure. Chauvet Rogue Outcast beamwashes were rigged above the screen to drive looks back into the room.
- 02 PA System and Show Operation
We ran L-Acoustics throughout, with X12 and X8 mains, SB18 subs and 5XT fills, fed from a Yamaha QL1 at FOH. Wireless was Sennheiser EW300 G4 with a Shure MX412 on the lectern, with comms on a five-way HollyLand Solidcom kit.
- 03 Making the Venue Work For Us
We used the exposed Victorian brickwork and Gothic arches as part of the visual language, lighting the arches in colour with Chauvet COLOrado Q40 washes. For arrival, we built an 8ft x 12ft custom-wrapped photo wall.
The DETAIL
- 240 guests
- Load-in started at 6am
- Audio: L-Acoustics PA
- Build completed in seven hours, then time to tech and run the show
- Distributed 75 inch relay screens and comfort monitors for clear room-wide sightlines

THE OUTCOME
HOW THE NIGHT LANDED
The show ran without issues. Visuals stayed sharp, speech stayed consistent front to back, and the arch lighting drew strong feedback from guests. It was a tight turnaround in a challenging room, delivered cleanly from build through to live show.
